Mount View Church Hall Following several years of preparation, a group of residents built the Mount View Church Hall on land donated by Ovid Weldon. Across the road, a 50 foot square lot was donated from the Albert Ayer property to be used for a horse hovel. The hall was officially opened on January 1, 1898, and designated for use by any Christian organization. The pastors of Middle Sackville Baptist Church conducted regular worship services here until the late 1970s. Over the years the hall has been used for Sunday School, Sewing Circle, Youth Group, concerts, weddings, showers, music nights, and community meetings. It was refurbished in 1954 and again in 1998 when the 100th Anniversary Celebrations were held. This marker placed by descendants of the original founders and Tantramar Historic Sites 2005 |
