The Doull Cottage
44 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B.

THE DOULL COTTAGE
1886

This one and a half storey house was built in 1886 for businessman Charles A. Doull. The small lot on which it stands was purchased from the Sackville Methodist Church, being part of the larger lot fronting on Squire Street on which at that time the Methodist parsonage stood.

Known as a "cottage" because of its small size, it has features of the Second Empire style, popular at the time, particularly the concave Mansard roof with dormer windows. Later additions include aluminum siding, double-hung aluminum windows and the out-of-character front porch.

This building is within the Town of Sackville Municipal Heritage Conservation Area A.
