The Rainnie House
39 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B.

THE RAINNIE HOUSE
1932

This 1 1/2 storey Craftsman bungalow was built in 1932 for local resident Gordon Rainnie on land which his father had purchased from Edward Cogswell in 1884. After Rainnie's death in 1947 his widow Gertrude Rainnie lived in the house until selling it in 1971.

The building is typical of the Craftsman style of architecture popular especial in the opening decades of the 20th century. The side-gabled roof projects over the gable ends forming large soffits and features one large, hip-roofed dormer at the front. The typical large, full-width porch would originally be open but has been glassed in.

This building is within the Town of Sackville Municipal Heritage Conservation Area A.
